In a tight, low-scoring contest, the Bulldogs got the points 3.7 (25) to 2.3 (15).
Ben Warfe and Finn Foster Black were Golden Square’s best player, while St Therese’s were best served by Jakob Toman and Tobie Travaglia.
The Bulldogs are behind Kyneton on the ladder.
The Tigers showed their class when they defeated Strathfieldsaye by eight goals.
Alex Thomson was brilliant for Kyneton and Max Prendergast bagged three goals. Max Paetow and Digby Parkinson were best for the Storm.
In the under-14 seniors division, bottom side Strathfieldsaye scored a stunning 26-point win over top team Kyneton.
Led by Dermott Bell and Patrick Murphy, the Storm won 9.11 (65) to 6.3 (39). Sam Kennedy and Nick Watts battled hard for the Tigers.
In the remaining game, second-placed Sandhurst outclassed third-placed Golden Square by 68 points.
The Dragons won 13.20 (98) to 4.6 (30), with Hamish Goggin and Isaac Willits the standout players. Macey Eaton and Zac Tickell were best for the Bulldogs.
In the under-16 seniors division, top two teams Kyneton and Golden Square survived scares in round 13.
The Tigers hung on to defeat White Hills by 13 points. The Demons had all the play in the final quarter, but wayward kicking proved costly in the 9.4 (58) to 6.9 (45) result.
Golden Square edged out Kangaroo Flat 4.6 (30) to 4.2 (26) at Wade Street.
The Dogs made a brilliant start and led 20-0 at the first break, but only kicked one more goal for the remainder of the match.
South Bendigo took a big step towards securing a finals berth when it defeated Strathfieldsaye by 23 points.
The Bloods won 8.4 (52) to 3.11 (29), with Isaac Carracher and Liam Shiell the standouts. Danid Murray and Jack Speechley were the Storm’s best.
In the under-15 girls division, South Bendigo scored a crucial win over Strath Storm to all but seal fifth spot for the finals.
Great performances by Octavia Di Donato and Tia Davidge set up the Bloods’ 8.12 (60) to 2.3 (15) win.
Storm’s best were Indiana Rogister and Lily Green.
Lucia Painter kicked three goals and Arkie Donnelly had plenty of the ball in Sandhurst’s 6.6 (42) to 1.1 (7) win over Eaglehawk.
Drew Ryan and Freyja Pearce played well for the Borough.
Kyneton dominated the second half in its 5.4 (34) to 1.3 (9) win over Golden Square.
Holly Keighran and Abby Thompson impressed for the Tigers, while Piper Tresize and Emma Gilligan were best for Square.
Billie Reidy kicked six goals for Strath Thunder in their 97-point win over White Hills. The Storm won 15.13 (103) to 1.0 (6). Siobhan Andrea was best for the Demons.
The top three teams – Kangaroo Flat, Woorinen and Strathfieldsaye – continued their good form in the under-18 girls division.
The Roos defeated Sandhurst by 51 points, Woorinen outclassed Eaglehawk by 77 points and Strathfieldsaye proved too good for South Bendigo by 71 points.
With three rounds remaining the three teams are separated by just one win.
