On Sunday, the orchestra will perform at the Elmore Memorial Hall with principal horn Cathy Moore the featured soloist.
Moore has been involved with music in Bendigo since 1984. She has studied at the Elder Conservatorium for Music in Adelaide and then Freiburg in Germany.
For this weekend’s concert she has chosen Gordon Jacob’s concerto for horn and strings.
The Elmore performance will also feature David Chisholm’s work “…and I am but an echo” and Joseph Haydn’s London Symphony No. 104.
Last weekend the orchestra visited Heathcote where they were was joined by soloist Derek Jones to perform the Mozart flute concerto in D.
Jones will return for the BSO’s performance at St Paul’s Cathedral in Bendigo on August 5. It will feature works by Chisholm, Haydn, Jabob and Mozart.
The Bendigo Symphony Orchestra’s Winter Regional Tour is at Elmore Memorial Hall in Hervey Street this Sunday from 2.30pm.
The tour then returns to Bendigo on August 5 for a performance at St Paul’s Cathedral at 2.30pm.
