The preschool is one of four early learning facilities in Bendigo to receive funds under the latest round of minor grants in the program announced on Monday.

Goodstart Early Learning Centres in Kangaroo Flat, Golden Square, and McIvor Road will each receive $1,500 to purchase computer equipment.

Shine Bright Early Years Manager Belinda Schultz was excited for the improvements at Neangar.

Inside, the kinder can get very noisy, which can pose a challenge to children’s learning.

Noise reduction material to the interior of the kindergarten will dramatically reduce noise levels inside the learning and play space. 

Quieter inside spaces will help children who struggle with noise levels and sensory processing, particularly those with autism.

“We’ve had it on our strategic plan, and we’ve been working towards it for the last ten years, and we’re finally very very thrilled that it’s going to be happening here,” Ms Schultz said.

“It’ll really really help people with their learning and the noise level will be dramatically reduced.”

Neangar kinder teacher Chris Glozier was looking forward to a quieter learning and play space thanks to the panels.

“It can be quite challenging and very loud inside the kinder room,” she said.

“Having the acoustic noise reduction panels will make a significant difference in dampening those noise levels and ensuring that children are in a much calmer and quieter learning and play space.”

Bendigo West MP Maree Edwards visited Neangar Kindergarten on Monday morning to make the announcement. 

“We want to make sure that our kinders, that our little kids have the best possible equipment, but also the best possible facilities, because we know how important the early years are to set up children for future learning,” she said.

The four Bendigo early learning facilities are among 451 across the state to receive a grant as part of teh Children’s Facilities Capital Program.
