A Maldon Primary School crossing supervisor has been officially recognised as one of the best in Victoria after parents put him up for the honour.

Ray Stevenson was named one of seven winners of the School Crossings Victoria honour at a recent ceremony in Melbourne.
Mr Stevenson has worked at the crossing for nearly nine years, making sure students get to and from school safely.
“I was absolutely gobsmacked – it’s just fantastic,” Mr Stevenson said of the honour
“I love this job - it’s the best job I’ve ever had.”
Sharon Gellel was among the parents who nominated him for the award.
“We are so proud of Ray. He’s just wonderful with the children and is always helping the kids and teaching them to cross the road safely,” Ms Gellel said.
“He always has a smile and is so friendly and caring.”
Other school crossing supervisors nominated for the honour included Tony Peachey, Paulette Nicholson and Jason Glasgow.
