North to north westerly winds are expected to strengthen today, as another cold front travels east across Victoria.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting damaging winds on Tuesday, averaging 60 to 70 kilomeres per hour, with peaks of 90 kilometres per hour.
South of Maryborough, residents are advised to prepare for damaging winds. Redesdale, Castlemaine, Kyneton and Daylesford all fall within the warning area.
Elevated areas are the south west coast are at the highest risk.
In Alpine areas, the winds are expected to increase during the day, to average between 70 and 80 kilometres per hour in the late afternoon, before easing overnight. Peak gusts of 100 to 110 kilometres per hour are expected.
Bendigo has a high chance of showers in the afternoon and early evening.

Rain has started to fall in the Bendigo CBD but the Bureau of Meteorology’s latest severe weather warning misses the north country region.
Areas south of from Maryborough, Castlemaine and Seymour are being told to prepare for damaging winds and possible storms.
Northerly winds are expected to strengthen ahead of a cold front that is expected to reach western Victoria tonight with winds expected to average 60 to 70 km/h.
Isolated thunderstorms entering the southwest Monday evening could also produce wind gusts 90 to 100km/h.
Locations which may be affected include Warrnambool, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Wonthaggi, Bacchus Marsh and the Alpine resorts.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should move vehicles under cover or away from trees; secure loose items around your house, yard and balcony; and keep clear of fallen power lines.
The next severe weather warning will be issued by 11pm.

The Bureau of Meteorology severe weather warning for damaging winds for parts of central Victoria remains in place.
Among the areas likely to be affected are Maryborough, Daylesford and Kyneton.
The highest wind gusts today have been 106kmh at Mount William, in the Grampians, and 96kmh at Melbourne Airport.

The areas expected to be affected include Maryborough, Daylesford and Kyneton.
The Bureau of Meteorology said that northerly winds are expected to strengthen ahead of a cold front.
Winds averaging 60 to 70 kmh with peak gusts of around 90 kmh are possible within the warning area and are expected in the west this morning before extending to central and eastern arwas during the afternoon and evening.
Elevated areas are considered to be most susceptible.
The Bureau of Meteorology said in alpine areas winds are expected to average 70 to 80 kmh late Monday afternoon, with peak gusts between 110 and 120 kmh expected Monday evening.
Isolated thunderstorms entering from the southwest on Monday evening could also produce wind gusts 90 to 100kmh.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
