The Stingrays had 36 scoring shots to 10 in their 15.21 (111) to 7.3 (45) victory at Shepley Oval.
The Pioneers were restricted to just one goal in the first half and trailed by 51 points at the main break, 8.10 to 1.1, as the Stingrays capitalised on Bendigo’s turnovers.
However, the Pioneers produced a far more competitive second half, kicking six goals to the the Stingrays’ seven.
Jack McHale, skipper Jacob Atley and Riley Ironside led the best for the Pioneers.
