A VOTE later this month will decide whether the Heathcote District league’s under-17 football competition will become under-18s next year.
A special general meeting has been called for Monday, July 30, in Elmore where clubs will vote on whether to maintain the under-17 age group or make the change to under-18s, which would bring Heathcote District in line with the Bendigo and Loddon Valley leagues.
The topic of changing the age group to under-18s has regularly been raised in the Heathcote District league over the years without the motion being passed.
“The board will have no bearing on it, it will be a vote taken by the clubs,” league chairman Peter Cole said.
