The Magical Ironbark Tour is now in its third year and will feature 22 drivers testing their skill in four closed road and two navigation stages.
Roads in the Knowsley Forest will be officially closed between 11am and 3pm for the Historic Rally Association event.
Event director Rob Cranston said more than 40 volunteers were helping organise the Confederation Australian Motor Sport-sanctioned rally.
“It is a combination of closed road stages and untimed navigation touring and is part of the HRA Rally Championship and Resto Country Spares Standard Car Challenge,” Mr Cranston said.
“Phil Nicholas from the Goornong Store has been surveying for two or three months to find the routes and worked on getting the approval from the Department of Land, Water and Planning.”
Cars will set off from Goornong at noon on Saturday, July 21, with the event to finished at about 10pm Saturday night.
“We have a couple of exotic cars driving including a Fiat and a few Peugeots. There are also 12 standard cars that are set up for rallying ready to run,” Mr Cranston said.
Spectator points will be set up in Knowsley and Bagshot with spectator instructions available from Goornong Hall from 9am on Saturday. Visit www.facebook.com/groups/HistoricRallyAssociation for more details.
