The area is unlikely to experience heavy snowfalls however.
Light snowfalls were thanks to temperatures below zero in elevated parts of the state on Sunday night.
At Mount Hotham the temperature plummeted to -4.6 degrees, while Falls Creek and Mount Bulla dropped to -4 degrees.
Closer to home, it was 2.8 degrees at Redesdale, which has an elevation of about 300 metres.
With an elevation of 615 metres, Mount Macedon temperatures were likely to have been near freezing.
This would have allowed for light snowfalls, after a band of rain moved through the state, said Michael Efron, senior forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology.
A cold front is expected to sweep through Victoria on both Tuesday and Thursday nights.
This could mean some more light snowfalls around the peaks of the Macedon Ranges, Mr Efron said.
