Taking on the Northern Country Women’s League at the QEO as part of Sunday’s gala day, the CVFLW made more of its scoring opportunities to win by 13 points.
Coached by Hamish Morcom, the CVFLW prevailed 6.3 (39) to 3.8 (26).
“Some of the main messages at the start of the game were to give lots of effort and always remain positive and from the first bounce it was clear our effort was there; we were able to get a lot more numbers to the contest,” Morcom said.
“Hopefully, it has been a really positive experience for the girls and it was fantastic for them to get the win.”
The CVFLW’s Jacqueline Radnell, who spent the bulk of the game playing on the wing, earned the medal for best on ground.
