RELATED – WEEKEND FOOTBALL PREVIEW
A RARE winning opportunity this season for both Elmore and White Hills presents on Saturday when the Heathcote District league’s bottom two teams face off.
Between them the two sides have just one win on the board – White Hills’ victory over Elmore in round five.
The Demons won that game by 32 points after a slow start in which they were five goals down at quarter-time after the Bloods flew out of the blocks.
“I’m sure Elmore will have a lot of confidence from that first quarter they played against us last time when they were 30-odd points up,” Demons coach Brent Millar said on Friday.
“But we’ll also take a lot of confidence out of the way we finished that game.
“There has obviously been a lot of footy played since then and we haven’t been in our best form the past few weeks and we’ve just forgotten how to win. We need to get that back and, hopefully, this week will be it.
“It’s still very positive around the club. We’re still getting very good numbers on the training track and it would be great for the players to see all their hard work pay off by getting another win.
“We’re playing good footy in patches, but we just need that consistency.”
• Saturday’s games – Elmore v White Hills, North Bendigo v LBU, Colbinabbin v Mount Pleasant, Heathcote v Huntly. Leitchville-Gunbower bye.
