The works are part of a three-stage program to improve drainage in the area and include a new drainage outfall at Forest Creek and new drainage pipes in Saint Street and Greenhill Avenue.
Streets between Barker and Wheeler streets will be open to local traffic only. Entry to Barker Street at Saint Street and Greenhill Avenue will be closed. Traffic will be able to detour along Forest Street.
Weather permitting, the first stage of works are expected to be completed by the end of September.
Local residents have been informed about the works and will have access to their properties at all times.
