A hunting program takes place around Bendigo each year between April and September, in Partnership with Parks Victoria.

Foxes are a significant problem in Victoria, killing both native animals and livestock, Mr Foster said.
Shooting drives in partnership with the SSAA allow Parks Victoria to reduce foxes on public land around Bendigo.
“The pest animal control programs are a great asset in reducing the number of pests in Victorian parks and reserves,” he said.
“The result is that native wildlife, plants and natural environments benefit from fewer predators.”
The SSAA provides a detailed plan of safety measures to Parks Victoria for each season, and notifies Victoria Police before each shoot.
The population control measure has been running for approximately 25 years.
The SSAA puts signage in place while a fox drive occurs.
