It will be the second meeting between the two sides this year after the Pioneers opened their season with a one-point victory over the Rebels in March.
It’s another of the TAC Cup Futures Rounds where teams must have at least 11 bottom-age players in their side.
Having played with 18 bottom-agers in their 20-point win over Gippsland Power last round, this weekend the Pioneers have 14 in what’s only the second time this season where the entire team has had a previous taste of TAC Cup experience.
Three of the Pioneers’ changes to their team have been forced following injuries to Daniel Keating (ACL), Max Johnson (knee) and Zack Shelton (wrist).

“We have a lot of rivalry with the Rebels... our programs and size of the region we cover are similar and there’s always a big rivalry between Bendigo and Ballarat in any sport,” Pioneers coach Rick Coburn said.
“We played well in our last game against Gippsland and the boys are certainly looking to put another strong performance on the park.”
Both the Rebels and Pioneers have two wins apiece.
Sunday’s game at the QEO starts at 1pm.
