Works will start in August and finish by the end of November with a small section of retaining wall adjacent to Beechworth Bakery and adjoining carpark in Echuca to be rebuilt.
Steel poles will be driven into the river bank, about 2.5 metres apart, anchoring the poles into the land and sliding concrete panels between each pole.
“The works will require the bakery’s riverside deck to be removed to provide access to the river bank,” Campaspe Shire mayor Adrian Weston said.
“It is important that the works are done to prevent further collapse of the river bank.
“Once retaining wall works are completed, the bakery deck will be rebuilt.”
