The Magpies rallied from a two-goal deficit midway through the final quarter to upstage the Bulldogs.
"I was so happy for the girls that they won the game.. they deserved a win like that,'' a proud Maryborough coach Debbie Symes said.
"We've been playing well lately without winning. We scored more than 50 goals against Sandhurst which was a very good effort against a good side like Sandhurst.
"The girls played really well and it was good to see them enjoy a win."
If was Maryborough's first win since round five. The Pies are in sixth-place on 24 points, just 5.59 per cent behind fifth-placed Golden Square.
"We're still in the race for the finals, but it's going to be hard,'' Symes said.
"We've still got to play the top teams again yet."
The team at the top of the table - Sandhurst - continued on its merry way when it thumped South Bendigo 75-39.
The four points were secured by quarter-time as the Dragons raced to a 21-6 lead.
The Bloods improved their attacking play as the game wore on, but they couldn't stop the Dragons from scoring.
