Perez hit the ground heavily on his back after taking a contested mark in the middle of the QEO while playing for Catherine McAuley College against Bendigo Senior Secondary College.
The match was stopped for some time while trainers attended to Perez.
He was taken from the ground on a stretcher and then transported by ambulance to Bendigo Hospital.
“The good news is that Flynn has been given the all-clear,’’ Pioneers’ coach Rick Coburn said.
“He has a little bit of bruising, but no serious damage and he should be right to play next game.
“He and his brother have had some back issues in the past, but he should be fine.
“The way he landed it didn’t look good, but the good thing is he’s going to okay.”
The Pioneers have this weekend off. Their next game is against the Greater Western Victoria Rebels at the QEO on July 8.
