THE Bendigo Thunder immediately gets the chance to scratch the itch that was its loss to Diamond Creek last week.
The Thunder last week lost to Diamond Creek by six points and due to a quirk of the Northern Football League Women’s draw, the two teams meet again this Sunday at the QEO.
“We’re starting to get to know these Diamond Creek girls fairly well,” Thunder coach Luis Alvarez-Harris said on Friday.
Having won their first five games of the season by an average of 91 points, the reigning premier Thunder have since lost three of their past four.
“We’ve had a really positive week on the track and the girls are really keen to have a good crack on Sunday,” Alvarez-Harris said.
“We’ve been a bit flat over the past few weeks, but if the vibe on the training track and how the girls have been getting around each other is anything to go by, we’ll certainly produce a better performance than we did last week.”
Among the inclusions into the Thunder side for Sunday’s game is Collingwood VFLW-listed player Bianca Jones, who will play a midfield/forward role.
Sunday’s game starts at 3pm.
• Ladder – Keilor (8-1), Bendigo (6-3), VU Western Spurs (5-4-1), Darebin (4-4), Diamond Creek (4-5), Whitehorse (0-10).
