Bendigo Tramways operations manager Luke Treble said the tram had received significant attention on social media.
“The yarn bombed tram is something that is very unique and it also showcases our wonderful heritage trams,” Mr Treble said.
The tram has been decorated by a group of ‘anonymous needling ninjas’ with hand-made crochet decorations which cover its interior and exterior.
“People come from all over the state to see the tram,” Mr Treble said.
“It’s also something unusual to share with visitors to the city.”
The yarn bombed tram is the first of its kind in the world and will be operational throughout the city until the end of August.
