Elmore’s 49-42 win over Leitchville-Gunbower on Saturday gave the Bloods a 12-point break on the Bombers in the race for fifth spot.
While the order of the top five might change in the next seven weeks the teams won’t. Colbinabbin, White Hills, Mt Pleasant, Huntly and Elmore will be the five teams to play in the finals series.
Mt Pleasant and Huntly followed Elmore’s lead and scored important wins on Saturday.
The Blues held off North Bendigo 50-38 to consolidate third place, while Huntly stayed one game and percentage behind Mounts after it defeated Lockington-Bamawm United 54-35.
In the final game of the round, top-of-the-table Colbinabbin thumped Heathcote 76-19.
The Grasshoppers are 9-0 this year with an average winning margin of 27 goals.
Next week’s round 12 action is highlighted by the clash between Elmore and Mt Pleasant.
