While the brigade appeared to have filled several places, it would still like to find at least another four fledgling fire fighters.
Graham Morris is due to take over as captain of the brigade from July 1 and said currently there are 56 members on the books, 26 of whom were active fire fighters.
Mr Morris said younger people would be especially welcome, as would those available for daytime turnouts.
“Like every other brigade, we struggle to get turnouts during weekdays,” he said.
Mr Morris said the sense of mateship was the best part of being a part of the brigade. He had been with Marong for 23 years in a variety of roles, though his CFA service started when he was 18-years-of-age.
