The Discovery team along with paleontologist Stephen Poropat helped families unearth some fun facts about dinosaurs.
Dr Poropat said he had wanted to be a paleontologist since he could pronounce the word.
He studied science at Monash University from 2003 to 2006 and in 2011 completed his Ph.D. on ostracod biostratigraphy and palaeoenvironmental reconstruction.
As well as learning about the fearsome creatures, kids and families put on their best dinosaur outfit to give the night a burst of colour.
They also did some some dino dancing and got their hands dirty with some dinosaur activities.
Due to popular demand, Discovery planning a similar dinosaur-themed night in the near future.
