The reunion will be held on Saturday, August 4, coinciding with South Bendigo’s home game against Eaglehawk in the BFNL.
The reunion comes 25 years after Kennington’s final season in the BFNL in 1993.
Kennington’s history includes winning the 1956 Golden City league premiership when it defeated YCW in the grand final by 17 points.
That premiership forms the title of a book on the club written by Kennington historian Peter Harrick titled “Kennington – The Olympic Premiers 1956” published in 1990.
Kennington’s last win in a BFNL game before it folded was a six-point victory over Kangaroo Flat – 14.18 (102) to 14.12 (96) – in round 18 of the 1993 season.
Ahead of the reunion, Harrick has selected his all-time best Kennington team:
B: Wally Dean, Phil Byrne, Wayne McCumber
HB: Bob Hopley, Peter Floyd, Bob Doble
C: Neville Johnston, Les McMurray, Quinten Blackmore
HF: Steve McKerrow, Bill Ripper, Peter Larson
F: Barry Seppings, Jack Hargreaves, Leon Grose
Foll: Allan Jones, Rod Southon, Alan Nalder
Inter: Darren Kulbars, Abby Bower
