Considered to be the 'birthplace of Bendigo’, the 14.2 ha property, also known as Ravenswood Run, is the first and the most substantial homestead built in the district, with the first gold discoveries in the area made in the vicinity.
It was designed by architect William Vahland, the same man who had a hand in designing and building a swathe of local buildings, including the recently sold Goldmines Hotel.
The main residence is of historic and architectural significance, with fine brick facework and detailing, arched porch and arcaded balustrade and concave verandah.
A number of outbuildings have been transformed into accommodation and the property had operated as a bed and breakfast.
The stables were recently converted into a restaurant and function centre that can seat 150 guests.
The property’s indicative selling price was $3,000,000 to $3,300,000, according to the property’s statement of information by real estate agency Jellis Craig.
