ASPIRING masters boxers from across Victoria will get the chance to sharpen their skills under the guidance of some of Victoria’s best coaches in Bendigo this weekend.
The Pianto Boxing Academy is hosting a masters training day this Saturday at its Golden Square gym.
The session is open to all females and males aged 34 and over.
Bendigo boxing coach Frank Pianto said participants would learn technical based skills to prepare those who may be considering competition for the first time, or for those with years of experience to polish up on their skills.
“We currently have two state masters champions here at the Pianto Boxing Academy, Brett Little, a two-time light heavyweight state champion, and Bendigo’s own Garry Austin, who won last year’s Victorian title against world masters champion Graham Prowse with a first round stoppage,” he said.
“I am very honoured to be a part of this program to be able to provide this opportunity to all the masters boxers in the Bendigo region in what should be a fantastic day and great experience for all involved.”
The training day will be run by Boxing Victoria accredited coaches and starts at 1pm. Cost is $20.
Pianto Boxing Academy is located at Fit Republic, 2 Abel Street, Golden Square.
