GOLDEN Square key forward Travis Baird is set to face another frustrating stint on the sidelines after suffering the same injury that he only just returned from on Saturday.
Baird again dislocated his shoulder in the Bulldogs’ gritty 34-point win over Kyneton in the BFNL.
It was Baird’s first game back after he dislocated the same shoulder against Eaglehawk in round four.
Baird had kicked two goals in his return match, before he was forced to the bench late in the third term after a ground level contest when he was again struck down with injury.
It continues a wretched run for the 31-year-old, who as well as his two injury blows this year missed the Bulldogs’ finals campaign last season with a hamstring.
“I know how much it means to Trav to play and how invested he is in the club… he’s a super person to have around the club and you don’t like to have people who love playing as much as he does to miss out,” Bulldogs coach Bernie Haberman said.
“At the end of the day, though, he will show his resilience and move on.

“We didn’t rush him back. He had done full training for the past two weeks, but I guess when anyone dislocates a shoulder they become more prone to it happening again.
“We’re not sure yet what it will mean in terms of time out… whether it could be six weeks again or more, we’ll wait for the physios to determine what steps we take going forward.”

Coming off two losses in a row, the Bulldogs kicked eight goals to one after half-time to beat the Tigers 13.7 (85) to 7.9 (51) at Wade Street.
“I thought we showed some good resolve today and it was pleasing that the players were able to carry out the plans we put in place,” Haberman said.
Other winners were Strathfieldsaye, Eaglehawk, Sandhurst and Gisborne.
