AUSTRALIA had the better of the Japan All-Stars women’s baseball team on the opening two days of the “Bendigo Challenge”.
The Australian Emeralds, who have been split into two teams, and the world’s No.1 ranked Japan are playing a three-day series at Strathfieldsaye’s Club Court.
Japan won only one of its four games across the weekend against two hungry Emeralds teams that have 39 players vieing for just 20 spots at the upcoming Women’s Baseball World Cup in August in Florida.
The series continues on Monday, beginning at 8.45am when Australia Green meets Australia White, with the winner to play Japan at 10.30am.
