ELMORE will begin the second half of the Heathcote District league A-grade netball season with a 10-point buffer inside the top five after adding another win on Saturday.
The Bloods – the competition’s big improvers this year – took another step towards a long-awaited return to the finals with a 44-26 win at home over Heathcote.
The victory was the Bloods’ third in a row. To give that some context, in the previous four seasons Elmore won just six games in total.
• White Hills showed its class against Mount Pleasant in the match of the round between second and third.
The Blues proved no match for the impressive Demons, who bolted to a 66-27 victory on their home court at Scott Street.
• Reigning premier Colbinabbin reached the halfway mark of the season undefeated, continuing its flag defence with a 66-30 away triumph against North Bendigo.
• Lockington-Bamawm United climbed off the bottom of the ladder after edging out Leitchville-Gunbower at home by one goal.
The Cats’ 38-37 victory was their second of the season, while it was a fifth loss in a row for the Bombers.
