This weekend is your last chance to see the work of iconic design company Marimekko on display at the gallery.
Bold pop-art prints and bright colours saw the Finnish company shoot into the spotlight during the 1960s and ‘70s.
The fresh, casual designs, bright colours and ready to wear clothing fit neatly within the post-war zeitgeist of the period.
Featuring over 300 pieces, the exhibition traces the company’s journey from its beginning in the 1950s to today.
It includes outfits, original fabrics, homewares and design sketches.
The works of designers Maija Isola, Annika Rimala and Fujiwo Ishimoto are featured prominently in the exhibition.
- Marimekko: Design Icon is open 10am-5pm until Monday June 11 at the Bendigo Art Gallery
