Principal Cindi Bruechert said the school had been trying to raise funds over the last few years for the playground development.
“We’ve really been blessed by receiving this grant and it will help our vision come to fruition,” Mrs Bruechert said.
“We have a playground at the front of our school, but the back of the school needs more development.”
The grant will be used to incorporate a natural play space into the rear section of the school.
“There will be playground equipment but also small natural rolling hills and tunnels which will provide students with an area where they can engage in natural play,” Mrs Bruechert said.
The $10,000 grant was presented to the school by representatives from the Commonwealth Bank and was part of a community focused initiative.
Construction of the new play area will commence towards the end of the year.
