The Bulldogs produced the highest-scoring first quarter in the BFNL this season that paved the way for a 140-point victory, 26.19 (175) to 5.5 (35), at Camp Reserve.
Gisborne was already 60 points in front by quarter-time after producing a barnstorming 10.6 to 1.0 opening term.
“We had a good win last week (against Maryborough) and to back it up again today and play four quarters of the footy we want to is a step in the right direction,” said Gisborne coach Clinton Young, who kicked two goals.

“It was a really pleasing performance overall, and like last week we were able to get a good, even contribution, so it was a good day.”
The Bulldogs’ tally of 26 goals featured 11 goalkickers led by Jaidyn Owen (four), Jake Conolan (four), youngster Sebastien Bell-Bartels (three), Thomas Wood (three) and Ethan Minns (three).
The best for the Bulldogs was class midfielder Matt Goodyear, who having started the season on Footscray’s VFL list is now with Gisborne full-time.
The Bulldogs were one player short during the third quarter after Owen was yellow-carded and reported.
Saturday’s result was Castlemaine’s fourth loss by more than 120 points in its past six games as its struggles continued.
William Moran and Sean Moss battled hard to be named the two best for the Magpies, who had Bendigo Pioneer-listed Zach Denahy kick two of their five goals.
