A thick blanket of smoke engulfed much of Sydney on Tuesday, with parts of the city recording "hazardous" air quality throughout the day, prompting 60 ambulance call-outs for respiratory issues.
Almost a third of the cases related to young children, NSW Ambulance said.
While the smoke is expected to clear through Wednesday, Sydney's air quality is still forecast to be "poor".
