Fever's upset loss to Queensland Firebirds over the weekend has allowed the Giants to creep to within two points of the leaders, following a dominant win over Melbourne Vixens on Sunday.

English international and Giants shooter Jo Harten singled out Fever goal shooter Jhaniele Fowler as a problem, but believes the Fever are beatable.

Fowler leads the competition with 268 goals, 63 more than the next best in Caitlin Thwaites of Collingwood.

"Firebirds beat them by ten goals which is something we're going to look to do - to try and upset their flow and try stop that ball before it gets to Jhaniele (Fowler)," Harten said.

Giants coach Julie Fitzgerald said while their upcoming opponents are an impressive side, her squad has come a long way in recent weeks.

"I don't think anyone is invincible in this competition," Fitzgerald said. "Some of the things we are working on come together every week - if we play well I think we can beat anyone.

"I go into every game confident - we do a lot of work and these girls are coming together and I think we're a little bit better every week."

Confidence is a key theme among the Giants staff and playing group, with Harten echoing her coach's call for belief in what they are trying to achieve.

"You've got to be confident in your own gameplan," she said.

"It's a short turnaround and a long flight - no excuses, but we're going to jump on our recovery the next couple of days and really analyse them (Fever).

"(A win) would mean we'd have a really nice bye and Julie wouldn't shout at us the next week, so hopefully that's the case and we can go into the bye with another win and feeling really confident."
