The prep to year 12 school planned to build on six acres of land it had purchased in 2015.

Stage one plans included a bus area, a football oval and a two story classroom block, the school’s operations manager Bruce Rodgers said.

The new building would included seven standard classrooms, an art room and science preparation areas, as well as administration.

He said that the school hoped to begin installing a basketball court gymnasium next year. The site would be fully developed over the next five to eight years.

“The college community is growing. We are seeing growth at between 10 or 12 per cent a year,” Mr Rodgers said.

“The community seems to want what we offer here at the college.

“Also, with the growth of the college we require extra arts and science facilities. So that’s stage one.”

Stage one would cost about $4 million. The state government would fund 50 per cent of the project, with the rest coming from the school through loans.
