Charles McKenzie Ross Evans was arrested and charged with a single count of murder following the death of his partner at a rural property on Lavenders Lane, Kyneton, on December 28 last year.
The 44-year-old man today appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court via video link.
Members of Ms Little’s family were present in the gallery.
Parties to the case will return to court from December 3 – 5 for the contested committal hearing, in which lawyers will have opportunities to ask questions of witnesses.
The magistrate will decide, based on what is presented, whether there is sufficient evidence to warrant a trial in the Supreme Court.
The prosecutor told Magistrate Sarah Leighfield forensic testing reports were expected be completed by August – September.
