TAC CUP – Pioneers striving to bounce back against Cannons

Among Saturday’s team will be Nyah’s Lucas Caccaviello, who will make his TAC Cup debut.

“Lucas is a fast little rover type who will bring plenty of intensity and speed and likes to carry the footy,” Pioneers coach Rick Coburn said.

The Pioneers’ side will also feature Bailey Henderson and Zach Denahy, who last weekend played in AFL Victoria’s Young Guns game at Werribee, with Denahy kicking three goals for the “green team”.

“Hendo has had a really good year again for us and last week was a good confidence-building game for Zach and, hopefully, he can build on that on Saturday,” Coburn said.

The Pioneers have lost their past four games to now be 1-4 and in 11^th position on the ladder.

Saturday’s game at Craigieburn’s RAMS Arena starts at 4.30pm.

“It will be wet and cold and tricky conditions, so it will be tough for the boys, but a challenge we’re looking forward to,” Coburn said.
