After years of countless classes, essays, lectures and assignments, hundreds of students from La Trobe University Bendigo have finally reached the end of the road.

The graduation ceremony was at Ulumbarra Theatre and started with the official opening by deputy chancellor Deborah Radford.
“La Trobe University maintains a strong presence in regional Victoria as well as welcoming and educating students from all over the world,” Ms Radford said.
“And it is very appropriate as we seek to foster in our graduates a sense of curiosity about the world.
“You are the ones who will solve the challenges that the world will face.
“I wish you well as you set out on your journey to shape the future of La Trobe, Bendigo and the nation’s next 50 years.”
Ms Radford’s speech highlighted the university’s motto of ‘qui cherche trouve’, when translated from French to English it means ‘whoever seeks shall find’.
Bendigo Advertiser editor Nicole Ferrie delivered the occasional address at the ceremony, discussing her role within the community and congratulating the graduates on their important milestone.
Students from a wide range of study areas including arts, business, education, physical health and many more were at the ceremony.

In total 844 students will graduate this week gaining either a bachelor degree, masters degree or a PhD.
Graduates donned in academic dress eagerly lined up to receive their awards, a moment they had all been waiting for, to receive the key to their future.
During the ceremony the graduates were presented their awards by La Trobe University’s Professor Amalia Di Iorio.
La Trobe University Bendigo head of campus Rob Stephenson said the university worked hard to ensure their students were empowered with the skills and capabilities for the future.
“La Trobe graduates are prepared for the world of work, and stand out in the workplace for their adaptability and other critical skills,” Mr Stephenson said.
“We’re hearing lots of great stories already about their lives after university and we look forward to many more as the years progress.
“We congratulate them on their remarkable achievements, and thank the family and friends who’ve supported them on their La Trobe journey.”
Attendees at the ceremony included family and friends of the graduates, and academics from La Trobe University.
