There are the usual online and print job advertisements where hundreds of positions all blend together, or you can stand out by making a fun video, which is what NDCH has done.
NDCH chairperson Merril Kelly said they wanted to try something that was different.
“The video is in response to our quest to attract GPs to our community,” Mrs Kelly said.
“We’ve been trying for around six months to attract new GPs to our clinic.
“We decided to do it in a way that was a little bit different and hopefully eye catching enough to attract potential candidates.
“It’s so hard to attract new GPs and we’ve gone to different recruiting agencies, advertised locally and overseas, so we hope the video brings to attention how desperately they are needed in rural areas.”
Mrs Kelly outlined the multiple benefits of working within rural and regional communities as a GP.
“It’s such a great opportunity to get involved within a community that will embrace you,” Mrs Kelly said.
“You will receive such a broad range of experiences working in a small rural area and we're also aware that they’re wanting a lifestyle for themselves and their family too.”
