The Tigers and Storm are among five teams that have signed up for the competition, which was formed after both the AFL Central Victoria and AFL Goulburn Murray regions chose to establish their own senior women’s leagues after they combined for one last year.
Also competing in the competition is the Bendigo Thunder development team, North Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat.
The Thunder and North Bendigo will do battle at Weeroona Oval from 2.30pm on Sunday, while Kangaroo Flat has the round one bye.
Champions IGA has signed on as the competition’s major sponsor for the next three years.
