Ro is the patron of the festival, which opens this evening with a screening of racy American comedy The Feels.
BQFF convener Suellen Pepperell said all were welcome to be a part of the festival, which closes with a screening of The Fabulous Allan Carr at 3.15pm on Sunday.
“We are proud to offer content that caters to the diversity that exists within central Victoria,” Suellen said.
Films to grace the La Trobe Art Institute screen throughout the weekend include The Gospel According to Andre, which the Melbourne Queer Film Festival recognised as ‘best documentary’.
A Moment in the Reeds, Australian Shorts, Signature Move, and BPM also feature in this year’s program.
Ro will deliver the keynote address at the Patron’s Breakfast in the heart of the city’s arts precinct on Sunday morning.
The Queer Country Art Exhibition will be open across the road, at Dudley House, throughout the weekend from 10am - 5pm.
“The BQFF committee are proud to present one of Australia’s only regional queer film festivals,” Suellen said.
The festival is in its 14th year.
