The two Dja Dja Wurrung traditional burns will take place 7.5 kilometres east of Elmore and 5 kilometres east of Goornong on the Campaspe River, covering areas of 8.3 hectares and 2.3 hectares respectively.
Last year, a partnership between the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation and Forest Fire Management Victoria saw traditional burning practices returned to the central Victorian landscape for land management for the first time in generations.
A fuel reduction burn of 161 hectares will take place at Inglewood.
The burns should be undertaken between 9am Saturday, April 28 and 8pm the following day, but smoke might be visible until Tuesday.
Anyone who experiences symptoms that might be due to smoke exposure is advised to seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
Residents of the areas are also advised to close windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering.
