A man has been taken to hospital after sustaining a hip injury in Kangaroo Flat Aldi’s car park.
Constable Veronica Walker from Victoria Police said a female driver misheard her husband, who was standing behind the car.
The driver began creeping out of the car park and nudged the man, who fell to the ground, where he sustained the injury.
He and his wife were heading to Bendigo Hospital for further medical assessment.
Police and ambulance have left the scene. The car park, which was temporarily blocked, now has full access.
11.22am: An older woman will receive an infringement notice for failing to give way, causing a crash in Wellington Street, Strathfieldsaye.
The woman, driving a blue Holden sedan, was travelling on Blucher Street at the intersection of Wellington Street when two cars approached from her right.
The first vehicle turned left onto Blucher Street, so the woman entered the intersection, but had failed to see the second vehicle, which was travelling straight through.
Both her vehicle and the other vehicle involved, a white Toyota four-wheel-drive, were towed from the scene and CFA attended to wash away fluids on the road.
There were no injuries as a result of the crash.
Senior Constable Anthony Johnson, from Bendigo Highway Patrol, urged motorists to check their mirrors and keep an ear out for sirens when on the road, to ensure roads could be adequately cleared for emergency service vehicles.
He said emergencies could happen anywhere, at anytime, and it was frustrating for emergency service workers to be held up by traffic when trying to reach them.
