But the works on a stretch of the road mean it will closed between Jennings Hill Road and Myrtle Creek Road.
Local traffic will be permitted up to the edge of construction site but the detour in place will add 20 minutes of travel time between Sutton Grange and Redesdale.
The detour travels along Bendigo-Sutton Grange Road, Metcalfe-Elphinstone Road, Metcalfe-Redesdale Road and Racecourse Road. Detour signage will be in place.
Works will being on Tuesday, May 1 and continue until late July. The $285,000 project is funded by the Australian Government’s Road to Recovery program.
