Police have destroyed a tobacco crop worth more than $3 million between Boort and Kerang.

On the morning of Thursday, April 19, police officers from four stations in the northwest of the state and officers from the Australian Taxation Office criminal investigations section carried out a search warrant at a property on Coad Road, Appin.
Police say they discovered a well-established crop, with plants more than six feet tall.
The crop was more than seven acres in size and had an estimated excise value of $3.25 million.
Police say the joint operation between Victoria Police and the ATO made a “significant disruption to the illegal tobacco trade” in the area.
Police ask that anyone who sees suspicious activity or strange crops contacts Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or by submitting a confidential crime report.
