The Saints backed up their round one victory over Wedderburn with a 20-point win over Sea Lake Nandaly on Saturday.
The 13.9 (87) to 9.13 (67) result was the first time the Saints have beaten Sea Lake Nandaly since the Tigers joined the competition in 2016.
The Saints kicked away from the Tigers with a 6.0 to 1.4 second quarter that opened up a 25-point buffer at the main break.
Returning coach James McNamee was best for the Saints, who had Mitchell Egan snare four goals.
While the Saints are off to a positive 2-0 start, the Tigers are now 0-2. Luke Martin was named their best player.
• Reigning premier Wycheproof-Narraport led at every change in defeating Boort by 16 points at home.
The Demons set their win up with a dominant first half in which they led by 36 points at the main break, 10.3 to 4.3.
The Magpies outscored the Demons eight goals to five after half-time, but the damage had been done as Wycheproof-Narraport finished 15.8 (98) to 12.10 (82) victors to begin its premiership defence with a 2-0 start.
In his first game of the season Demons’ star Corey Jones slotted five goals, but it was one of the Magpies who was the standout forward on the ground.
Rohan Nolan kicked nine of Boort’s 12 goals in a dynamic performance inside 50.
• Birchip-Watchem recorded the first triple-figure win of the season, crushing Wedderburn by 102 points.
The Bulls’ 22.12 (144) to 6.6 (42) victory was their eighth in a row against Wedderburn – the equal-longest current streak of one team recording consecutive wins against another in the North Central league.
The Bulls at one stage kicked 11 unanswered goals during the second and third quarters, with star recruit Lachlan Tardrew (four goals) again dominant, as was another of their guns in Dale Hinkley.
As well as Tardrew’s four goals the Bulls also had Stephen Paulke and Brent Lynch slot five each.
• Donald notched its first win of the season with an accurate day in front of goal against Charlton.
The Royals converted 20 of their 26 scoring shots in a 52-point victory as they prevailed 20.6 (126) to 11.8 (74).
The Royals’ Seamus Young proved a handful for the Navies with a haul of seven goals to be one of Donald’s best, along with Rian McGough and Tom Bell.
New coach Kain Robins, who was his side’s best, and Mitchell Gleeson kicked three goals apiece for the Navies, who are now 0-2 ahead of a round three clash with Birchip-Watchem.
