Bendigo Relay for Life saw a few first timers and others who trod the same path every year.
Roslyn Rossi and her two children were some of those fundraising for the Cancer Council for the first time.
“This is my first time, I was encouraged by my kids who wanted to do it for their dad who passed away two and a half years ago,” she said.
“It’s reassuring to walk around and see survivor bags – it’s good for my kids to see that people can survive cancer.”
One man who survived cancer was John Tamblyn, who is four years in remission.
Mr Tamblyn was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2013, which was made particularly difficult as four of his family had unfortunately passed away due to cancer.
“We hope people don’t have to go through what we went through,” he said.
