Dingo Conservation Australia will host the Songs in the Sticks festival at its conservation park in Chewton.
Yodelling divas Petal and Pet, Triple J Unearthed multi-instrumentalist Daniel Aaron, Broderick Smith and Skyscraper Stan will perform from 2pm on the day.
Songs in the Sticks Music will take place in a natural amphitheatre deep in the Chewton bush with proceeds from the day going to the Fryerstown CFA.
“We want to give back to the community that supports us,” Dingo Conservation Park owner Tehree Gordon said.
“Each Christmas we invite all local emergency services members and their families to a lunch as a way of thanking them for keeping our community safe, and this event is an extension of that offering.”
Ms Gordon said the event could host up to 130 people.
“We have four amazing performers who are kindly coming along to play and we were very thankful for all the rain last week, and not this week,” she said.
”We always offer to do fundraisers. Fryerstown CFA lost main fundraiser in the antiques fair and some people think the CFA funded by state governemnt, they're not.
“So Fryerstown put hand up and asked us to host a fundraiser and we said of course.”
Since taking over the site in 2005, the Gordons have transformed what was a dusty, rocky site into a lush wildlife sanctuary.
Visitors are invited to bring picnic rugs to spread out and while the day away in this beautiful setting. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Access to the event is via shuttle bus service only. The site does not suit people with limited mobility.
Buses will depart frequently from the Chewton Soliders’ Memorial Park (soccer ground) from 1pm and return there at the conclusion of the event as well as during the course of the day.
The event is for people aged 15 and over. Tickets are $20 plus a small booking fee and can be purchased online at www.trybooking.com
Cost includes entry to the wildlife sanctuary and the shuttle bus service.
