The reigning premier Thunder opened their Northern Football League Women’s season with a resounding 149-point thrashing of Diamond Creek at Plenty Park Oval.

Under new coach Luis Alvarez-Harris, the Thunder held Diamond Creek scoreless in their 22.17 (149) to 0.0 (0) thrashing.
New skipper Andrea Walsh booted eight goals, while Phoebe Cuttriss chipped in with four and Carly Geary three.
The trio were among nine Thunder goalkickers.
The Thunder booted 17 of their 22 goals after half-time.
Bendigo hosts VU Western Spurs at Weeroona Oval from 3pm this Sunday.
