MOUNT Pleasant has shown toughness and resolve to claw back a first half-deficit and defeat North Bendigo in round two of HDFNL netball.
The Blues trailed 19-13 at the main break, but were able to overcome a spirited Bulldogs line-up to win 34-31.
It was the Blues’ second win of the season, but for the Bulldogs a second straight loss by four goals or less.
They will get their chance to make amends at Huntly next Saturday.
Elsewhere, Elmore and Leitchville-Gunbower played out a thrilling draw on the Bloods’ home courts.
Elmore came from five goals down at three quarter time to be in front with 30 seconds to play, but a late goal to the Bombers in the dying seconds forced the tie.
Scores had earlier been tied at half time.
Colbinabbin joined Mount Pleasant at 2-0 with a 64-24 win against Heathcote.
Huntly rebounded from a big first round loss to White Hills to defeat Lockington-Bamawm United 43-37 at Lockington.
