Five players are in the under-18 squad and six in the under-16 squad.
AFL Academy member Jye Caldwell (Golden Square/Geelong Grammar), Pioneers’ skipper Jacob Atley (Rochester), Zane Keighran (Golden Square), James Schischka (Strathfieldsaye) and Brodie Kemp (Echuca/Geelong Grammar) will attend the under-18 training camp at Windy Hill this weekend.
The training camp will conclude with an intra-squad practice match.
Victoria Country’s opening match of the national championships is against the Allies on June 9. The second round game is against Vic Metro on Sunday, June 24.
Jack Ginnivan (Golden Square), Finn Ellis Castle (Mildura), Jack Tillig (St Arnaud), Josh Treacy (Cohuna), Sam Conforti (Sandhurst) and Nathan Kay (Rochester) have been named in the under-16 training squad.
The under-16 squad will have a training camp at Windy Hill on Saturday, April 21.
The Victoria Country under-16s play Victoria Metro on June 22 at IKON Park.
The under-16 national championships will be held on the Gold Coast between July 9-14.
